 Summary(from GoodReads):
     The year is 2009.  Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.
    That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
    Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
    But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler.  Recruit… or kill him.
     Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

My Thoughts:
    This is my first audiobook review on the blog & I've got to say I'm officially an audiobook fan. It's nice to still be able to enjoy a book even when you're not able to actually sit & read.
    The storyline of Tempest was definitely entertaining. For some reason it reminded me a bit of the movie Jumper only Jackson jumps time instead of places. The idea of time travel has always fascinated me(to be honest I think it fascinates a lot of people) & I think Julie handled it really well however I still found myself confused as to exactly when Jackson was during some of his jumps. I also enjoyed the characters & how Jackson had to adjust to the way they changed between who they were/are in the present to who they are/were in the past. The parts with Jackson's twin sister Courtney & his girlfriend Holly had to be some of my favorites. There was also a conspiracy/espionage type feel to the story due to secret government agencies & time-terrorists.
     In all I thought Tempest was a good book. The plot held my attention & I'll be interested to see where Julie takes it next.

  1. I really really wanted to read this book ASAP the moment it came out and then I ended up not buying it ASAP for some reason. Awesome review. I've never listened to an Audio Book before. Not so sure how I would feel about it I'm afraid I might end up day dreaming or something on accident. LOL! I'm going to have to try it out some day! :D

    1. Yeah I thought it was good. Kind of in the middle(hence the three).
      I was worried about the same thing, but another blogger convinced me to give them a try after I mentioned not having enough time to read & I figured why not. I listened to it while I was busy with boring stuff(like cleaning) & I actually didn't have a problem paying attention.
      Glad you liked the review! =)
